Deployments

Deployments continue to work the same way. Vendor’s engineers deploy their code and models to their own servers using their framework of choice (Terraform, AWS CDK, etc). It stands up facade servers in their cloud for deployment more details. Engineers will continue to deploy code the same way as the SaaS stack to those facade servers, which behind-the-scenes synchronize their code to real servers running inside customer’s isolated VPC in their appliance.

Observability

Through facades, the vendor’s engineering team can observe the health metrics, utilization rate of the infrastructure inside the isolated VPC. Vendors can also pass non-sensitive logs back to their server. Using these, the vendor can decide how to scale the infrastructure inside the isolated VPCs to meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the customer.
